Why God Was Excluded From Constitution by: CGretired
I enjoyed the preview video. The narrator?s voice was pleasant to listen to. I look forward to more discussion of the Constitution.
One thing that I have learned was that the federal Constitution lacked overt references to God and Christianity (except for the 1st Amendment) because many of the state?s Constitutions already did so. The founders believed in a very small federal government with ultimate power residing in the states. Your take is a little different.

Founders Believed In Freedom Through Christ by: Anonymous
With several exceptions, the Founding Fathers were definitely men operating under a Christian worldview. Their writings were filled with references to God and dependence and trust upon Him.
Christianity, being logical and true, is open to free thinking and challenges. People that hold to belief systems which cannot be defended by rational means then turn to tyranny to support themselves.
The United States was founded by men who believed in the freedom obtained through Jesus Christ and fought to keep government from interfering in religious liberties. The other belief systems that never would have produced our freedom have now taken over and taken our freedom and warped it into another form of tyranny ? attempting to banish Christians from the country founded upon the freedoms of Christ!

Truth by: Jim Bartlett
This truth about our US Constitution being a step away from acknowledging God as the ultimate authority to acknowledging "We the people" as the ultimate authority is a very important consideration. For if our founders essentially stopped acknowledging God as the ruler of our nation, then our current ungodly state of affairs is a reasonable result of such a decision. This also also helps us see that returning to acknowledging God in government could recover the blessings of life, liberty and free market economiocs.

The Acid Test by: Dennis
Good thread started here and good comments. Of course, the acid test of the founder's worldview was the documents and government they gave us. I'm looking forward to further discussion that explores those connections.

Faith by: CGRetired
I think we have to remember that our founding fathers were more learned in the Bible and faith in general than our present day society. With out going into a long dissertation here I think that another reason for the absence of God in the Constitution was that the founders never thought that His absence would be as much as it is today. We have to remember that our current society is very ignorant in theology and the Bible.

Jefferson was a religious oddball by: Lee
Jefferson had his own Bible that he made up from pieces of scripture that he liked, keying especially on the words of Jesus. That is akin to what many unbelievers do today.
They like the beatitudes, but hate John chapter 3. They like to see Jesus as a good teacher of morality, but not as the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world.

Jefferson by: CGRetired
Good point. I once read some where that the Unitarians claim Jefferson as one of theirs. That being said I still maintain that regardless of the particular religion practices of the founders, they were still better trained in Biblical teachings than most people of later generations.

Willing Conspirators Or Willingly Blind? by: Ross Whetson
I typed in George Washington a Mason and look what I found.
I read the book: "Rulers of Evil" by F. Tupper Saucey and then looked at the Capital and I swear it looks like most of these major "christian" organizations are either willing conspirators or "willingly blind".
Got to go for now, please acknowledge, Ross

What Conspiracy Are You Talking About, Ross? by: Dennis
Well, Ross, you've done a great job of arousing our curiosity. What exactly did you read in this book that led you to that conclusion about Christian organizations?
In addition to responding here, would you care to enter a short review on the Book Reviews page and have an opportunity to win the two "Keys to The Classics" Biblical commentaries on 50 of the classical authors?

"Rulers of Evil" by F. Tupper Saucey by: Ross Whetson
I hope you will forgive me for being in such a hurry but a short review of that book and the evidence he brings shows that the Jesuits and the RCC which they control are really running the "conspiracies". The statue (graven) image at the top of the Capital Rotunda is the "goddess of the underworld" or "goddess of the dead".
When I say "christian" organizations, to me that means any 501c3 that registers with Ceasar. Have you ever heard any one explain the painting in the Rotunda? Or who it was that painted it, or where he came from? Or the "Washington" obelisk? or the layout of the city of Washington? Who were the "Indians" who threw the tea into the water? Who is the "professor" who talked with Franklin, Washington, and a couple other men on the design of the Flag? Who was the man who founded "democracy"? Were the Jesuits really "out of power" during their "suppression"?
The book has all kinds of important information, and that is only the tip of the iceberg. What if I told you that U.S. troops today are very similar to the Hessians of the Revolutionary War. Having been in Nam, I can see where that looks very much like what we were.
By the way, your take on Roger Williams was quite a different story than what I was taught. I agree that government should not be supporting any religion monetarily; that should be by the free will offerings of the body of Christ.
The true Christian faith is the only one that should be allowed to run the government as long as the leader is not in rebellion to Jesus Christ. Could you imagine a court which held to the 10 Commandments? Wow!

An Illuminati Heritage? Lord, Heal Our Land. by: Craig J. Oldfield
Were our founding fathers influenced with politico-religious power bases created in Europe? I say Yes, and I believe that 'secret society' groups such as the Illuminati have purposed by their own covenants to establish a one world order.
With that stated, I believe that even as many, if not all, of our founding fathers were "goat-skin-carrying members" of the freemasonry league. They were influenced by Luciferian doctrines that have impaled a thorn in our side as a republic-based society to this day. That is due to the decision-making processes that transpired to create a covenant with death -- our governmental constitution that was written to exclude the God of Abraham, and Isaac and Jacob -- All in the name of Enlightenment -- that's the Illuminati, in my opinion.
THAT prevalent influence seems to be what has been guiding the contemporary conscience of our voters through media, and public education. Potentially, these original forces of influence and present patterns of amoral and servile opinions could graft our 'modern' society into the one world order scheme without even a twitch of an eye.
But God says that "if we will humble ourselves, pray and seek His Face, He will heal our land" and Christ Jesus said among the people, "seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things (Godly Provision) will be added unto you. And within the vast universe that God created for us, where the laws of physics apply, An object will move continuously in one direction until a force/object equal or greater changes it's path (My quote of course). Likewise the Lord has given us the force of the prayer of faith by the Word of God (A sword in our hand) to impose Godly authority against the demonic, and for influence upon men's souls to be saved for the glory of God and His Kingdom.
These are corporate and personal tools and blessings in the midst of us through revelation and then manifestation, if we will only be good stewards unto the Lord by identifying our authority in Christ as true and effective substance in our society. We thereby, exercise our authority through love and grace to effect change over forces of evil toward a more peaceable and moral American society. At least while His Church is still on
the earth.
By the way, Yes, I agree with the content regarding the covenant with death. However, I believe the Covenant of Life is greater and more powerful!!
