US Constitution Stripped States of Meaningful Powers
by: DW

The main page under the Patrick Henry tab discusses Patrick Henry's speeches and his firm conviction that the new Constitution stripped the states of most of their powers. Patrick Henry was not mollified by the Bill of Rights either.

The most important amendments he had proposed were not included in the Bill of Rights. It was on the occasion of his first reading the first 10 Amendments that he uttered his famous prophecy: "This government will not last 100 years" before a great civil war will break out.

The Covenant Broken section is the best place to look for articles discussing the set-up of the "machinery of the national government." You can also try typing phrases like "states rights" and "national government" into the site search engine and see what pops up.
