Is Luddite To The Core

The basic problem with government education, is it is Luddite to the core. God is outlawed from the curriculum. He is outlawed from history, from science, from economics and from everything else.

Any system that outlaws the most significant Fact in the universe is not education -- it is propaganda or miseducation. It is anti-Christian. It is not neutral, it is laced with bias. Its claims to neutrality are a sham.

No matter how scientifically or technically proficient American students may or may not be, the government schools are designed to reduce them to moral and spiritual incompetence -- this is inherent in the system. It can never change, it can only be replaced.

Educational Luddites

Not only is God outlawed from the American education guild and ignored, He is laughed out of town. He is mocked and ridiculed. Anybody who attempts to interject Him into the classroom is regarded as a superstitious Luddite. A Luddite was a member of the British trade guild that rejected the march of technological progress. In reality the real Luddite is one who clings to the failed government education system.

Andrew Coulson has traced the history of education all the way back to ancient Greece in his book "Market Education" (Transaction Publishers, 1999). He concludes that every time government gets involved in education, education is destroyed. Athens and Sparta are a case in point.

Sparta had state sponsored education to support its military regime. In Athens parents selected the tutor of choice for their children based on a free market in education. The result was a flowering of culture even in a pagan environment: architecture, literature, and philosophy all proliferated. Statist Sparta had none of that.

America is going the way of ancient Sparta. For example, in many states voters are regularly tapped for more school funding for the sake of "our kids." The problem is that very little of it gets to the classroom. Instead it shores up a bloated government retirement system in which retirees get paid more than when they were employed.

When God is rejected government takes His place as the ultimate provider of Health, Education and Welfare. Thus, the schools exist to promote and glorify the state. All to the end that government of the bureaucrats, by the bureaucrats and for the bureaucrats should not perish from the earth.

Coulson calls for a return to private education with scholarship foundations set up to assist the poor. Such a system could be operated at a fraction the cost of the current bureaucracy with every child having the quality advantages of a private school.

To expose children to the current system is like forcing them to drink poison. Poison for the soul is worse than poison for the body. Jesus said it would be better to poke out your eye, than to burn in Hell. Godless government education assigns the souls of its victims to Hell. Jesus said, it would be better to be cast into the sea with a millstone tied around your neck than to cause any of these little ones to err.

He's talking about us if we promote this godless government education system and expose our children to it. Government education consciously and purposely causes "little ones" to err.

Do you think God will ever bless a system that outlaws and rejects Him? Read the curses of Deuteronomy 28. When a nation rejects and curses God in its education system, God rejects and curses every aspect of the culture of that nation.

"Positive thinking" cannot overcome this fact. The universe is not "wired for success" for those who reject God. Our faith must be in the true God or we cannot succeed. According to Joshua 1:8, that is the true formula for success.

We may achieve a measure of financial success, but we will end up like the rich man to whom God said, "Thou fool, this day thy soul shall be required of thee." And as Jesus said elsewhere, "What shall it profit a man if he gain the whole world and lose his own soul."

Educational Neutrality

There is no such thing as neutrality in education -- it is a myth. Jesus said, "he who is not for me is against me." To ignore the Lordship of Christ as the Creator of everything is to oppose Christ and go to war against Him. Government education is at war with God and with Christ. To promote it is cultural and spiritual suicide.

Christians should have no part of it. For Christians to send their children to government schools is like the Israelites entering the Promised Land and then sending their children to "Canaanite U." Christians need to get their kids out of the Luddite government education system now. Yesterday would not be too soon.

But most Christians would rather sacrifice their children on the altar of Friday night football. Or on the altar of "getting into the best college" or getting "a good job." After all, high school graduates earn $1,000,000 more over their lifetime than non-graduates, right? Like Esau, we are selling our collective soul for a "mess of pottage."

American students are being educated for atheism. "The fool has said in his heart, there is no God." A nation of fools has said in its heart, there is no God. Our Luddite education system is producing a nation of fools, who have excluded God from their knowledge base. A fool can be quite well educated -- that's what makes him dangerous. When you have a nation of educated fools, you have a dangerous situation indeed.
