Is The Gulf Oil Spill In Bible Prophecy?

Spiritual insight from Isaiah 24-26 may be applicable to the Gulf oil spill tragedy:

Is 24:3-6 -- "The earth will be completely laid waste and completely despoiled, for the Lord has spoken this word....The earth is also polluted by its inhabitants, for they transgressed laws, violated statutes, broke the everlasting covenant....Therefore, a curse devours the earth…."

Our sin is not against the environment, but against God, for rejecting His law and pretending He does not see our countless murders, thefts, and immoralities. When Cain slew Able, God said, "your brother's blood cries out to Me from the ground." Cain then became a wanderer in the earth. In other words, when the earth/land becomes morally polluted by its inhabitants, the just punishment of God is to have the land spew out its inhabitants.

Isaiah 24:6 -- "Therefore, the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men are left. The new wine mourns, the vine decays, All the merry-hearted sigh."

The lethal nature of the abiotic gasses being expelled from the spill may be under-reported. Could this verse be describing the effect of deadly benzyne, methylene chloride, vanadium, and hydrogen sulfide that is spewing in multi-colors from the well and may eventually fall on North America in a lethal toxic rain? Could this be God's chastisement on rich and poor alike who have rebelled against His law? Possibly.

Isaiah 24:19-20 -- "The earth is broken asunder, The earth is split through, The earth is shaken violently. The earth reels to and fro like a drunkard And it totters like a shack, For its transgression is heavy upon it, And it will fall, never to rise again."

Could this be the nuclear explosion that is being considered to "cauterize" the well? Possibly.

Isaiah 24:21,22 -- So it will happen in that day, That the Lord will punish the host of heaven, on high, And the kings of the earth....will be gathered together....And after many days they will be punished."

Could this be God's punishment of the seemingly invincible globalist elite that threaten to enslave the entire planet? Possibly?

Isaiah 25:1-3 -- O Lord, Thou art my God, I will exalt Thee, I will give thanks to Thy name; For Thou hast worked wonders, Plans formed long ago, with perfect faithfulness....Therefore a strong people will glorify Thee; Cities of ruthless nations will revere Thee. for Thou hast been a defense for the needy in his distress...."

All of Isaiah 25 is filled with such praise of Jehovah. Could this be the miraculous deliverance that God provides when the world at last returns to Him in sorrow and repentance? Possibly.

Isaiah 26: Indeed my spirit within me seeks Thee diligently; For when the earth experiences Thy judgments The inhabitants of the world learn righteousness."
